Spotlight on Seagull Coastline Cedar Grand (parlor guitar)

Yeah, I know, I'm stuck on parlor guitars. Here's one that Canadian guitar company Seagull makes in its Coastline series, the Coastline Cedar Grand. I recently made a trip to a local guitar store, & I once again was impressed with all the Seagulls. Seems to me that Taylors and Seagulls were leaps & bounds better than anything else in the store, & there were tons of guitars. Plus, a $600 Seagull sounds better than a comparable $3000 Gibson, so there you go.

Look at the specs on this classy beauty:
- Pressure tested, solid cedar top
- Canadian wild cherry back & sides
- Canadian silver leaf maple neck
- Rosewood fingerboard & bridge
- Tusq nut & compensated saddle
- Semi-gloss custom polished finish
- Optional: Godin Q1 Electronics
- And there's no guitar logo classier than Seagull's on the headstock.

I LOVE that you have access to the 14th fret - many acoustics, esp. parlors, stop at the 12th fret. Nice touch.

Parlors aren't for everyone, but I'm super into fingerstyle these days, esp. blues & sort of old-timey, folksy stuff. Parlors have very pronounced individual notes, so they're nice for fingerstyle guitarists, but you wouldn't want to use one for rhythm guitar in a band. Check out other parlor guitars I've spotlighted on this sight HERE and ALSO HERE. You can find this guitar & others in the Coastline series HERE.

Thanks for stopping by the Acoustic Spotlight Zone.
